The faculty is committed to excellence in teaching, supported by interdisciplinary, pedagogical, and applied scholarship. The School of Business and Entrepreneurship Advisory Board at Lighthouse Christian College is comprised of business owners and leaders across many business disciplines. The Advisory Board provides an external perspective while offering input on the strategic direction and overall objectives of the School of Business and Entrepreneurship.

Dr. Joanna Johannes

Dr. Joanna Johannes

President

Joanna Johannes is a serial entrepreneur, an educational researcher, and a published author. A water ski scholarship brought her to the University of South Florida in 1986. After becoming a 1987 World Champion water skier and obtaining her bachelors degree in finance in 1989, she started her career in finance. She worked her way up to a Director’s position of a fortune 500 company at the ripe age of 26. From there, she moved on to running a Florida based Retail Company as their Chief Financial Officer. Deciding to start her own business in 1998, she launched a forensic auditing firm, gaining large clients such as the Home Shopping Network and Michael’s Arts and Crafts.  While continuing to run her firm, she also became partners in a financial consulting firm with the former CFO of Home Depot and President of May Company Department Stores.

Dr. Johannes has taken extension courses at Harvard University, earned her Master’s in Business Administration, and a Doctorate in Higher Education Leadership. Her research in the area of using social media to motivate students within the classroom has gained worldwide attention. Beyond serving as the Chancellor of Lighthouse Christian College, Dr. Johannes is also a Florida Real Estate Broker and has taught college level courses on-line for over 10 years.

Dr. Toni Green

Dr. Toni Green received dual undergraduate degrees in biology and chemistry from the University of Colorado. She received her Ph.D. in biochemistry from the University of Arizona, where she investigated membrane proteins involved in nitric oxide signaling pathways.

After graduation, Dr. Green conducted research in Las Vegas that focused on investigating factors that influenced metastasis of breast cancer and melanoma.

For the past 5 years, Dr. Green has taught secondary and college-level science courses. Her specialty lies in designing engaging curriculum that aids learning through development of scientific inquiry and application to real-world scenarios. She is currently the college department head over science.

 

Dr. Tawanna Hall

Dr. Tawanna Hall has a PhD from Florida State University in Education Leadership & Administration/Supervision. She earned an EdS or Education Specialist Degree in Psychology and her Masters degree is in Counseling and Human Development from Troy State University.

She has 40 years of experience in the field of education. During these 40 years, she worked in all possible areas of education including administration. She has taught at the college/university level for the last 25 years. Her expertise lies in online instruction. Her other businesses include being a Florida Realtor and a certified pilot.

Mr. Raul Garcia

Professor

Raul Garcia has owned and operated Hope Counseling Services since 2007. He is a licensed mental health counselor and a certified life coach for the State of Florida for over 15 years.

He is also a Lighthouse college-level instructor who teaches psychology-related classes. As a motivational speaker and mentor, he has made a positive and direct impact on thousands of people by helping people help themselves in improving their quality of life.

His wealth of knowledge is now available to the LCC college students.

Ms. Isabella Foreman

Ms. Isabella Foreman

Professor

Ms. Foreman is a science professor. She graduated from the University of West Florida (UWF) with a master’s degree in Environmental and Earth Sciences specializing in Coastal Morphology and Dune Conservation.

During her time at UWF, she conducted research studies into the degradation of coastal dunes after trampling events, dune vegetation regrowth after trampling events, and methods to prevent and help repair dune degradation and erosion. She also aided in many research studies, including developing a rotating anemometer to better monitor sediment transport, mapping river erosion after storm events, and mapping ecological habitats via drone and satellite imagery. Ms. Foreman has several years of experience in teaching college-level science and science lab classes.

Dr. Satterly has over 25 years experience in educational leadership and is currently the Headmaster of Westminster Academy.

He also serves on the Lighthouse Board of Directors and provides consulting in the areas of leadership.
